Welcome to Color Your Palate!
Throughout the challenge, we will learn the benefits of eating a diet rich in colorful fruits and vegetables, how we benefit from each color group and discover new and delicious ways to prepare them.
Remember though, eating too many foods from any one food group —including fruits and vegetables—can deprive your body of the essential nutrients found in other foods. While eating a diet rich in fruits and veggies has great benefits for our health, excessive consumption can lead to gastrointestinal discomfort .
How the challenge works:
***Each week, record the number of servings you enjoy of fruits and vegetables on the tracker you received.
***You will receive points if you average at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables every day.
***While 5 is our goal, it is recommended that adults should consume 9 servings of fruit and vegetables daily.
but 9 is divine!
Aim for 9 servings of fruits
and veggies everyday.
This Week's Challenge: Try a new fruit and veggie this week
Why is it important to try new things?
Well for starters, you never know what you’re missing out on until you try it out!
When we branch out we give ourselves the opportunity to have new and fun experiences and test out our creativity.
Trying new, healthy foods can help us to add more nutrients to our diet and could unlock the door to a new favorite food!
This week challenge yourself to try one new fruit and one new vegetable and see what you think.
There are so many fruits and veggies out there to try so go find a new one this week!
