Week Three: Simplify your Life and Self Care

asd
Welcome to the third week of Healthy Lifestyle's Healthy Holidays program!
The focus this week is on finding ways for you to become more organized by taking care of yourself; physically, mentally and spiritually. During the holidays it is important to simplify your life by getting organized, and managing your stress levels. Taking the time to care for yourself will help you to meet the demands of the season. Below are some benefits, tips, and ideas to simplify your life!

Tips:
Do you know anyone who isn't stressed out these days? The pace of our lives makes stress management a necessary skill. Learning to identify your problems and implement solutions is the key to successful stress relief. Taking time to manage your stress will not only help you feel better, but it will help you to prioritize and get things done.

Everyone can benefit from learning de-stressor techniques such as; relaxation, physical activity, or laugher. Relaxation techniques usually involve refocusing your attention on something calming to increase awareness of your body, and to repair the damage stress causes. Common relaxation techniques include guided imagery, meditation and yoga. Physical activity is also a great stress buster because it reduces stress hormones and increases the body’s ‘feel good’ chemicals. Laugher helps to strengthen your immune system, boost your energy, diminish pain, and protect you from the damaging effects of stress. Best of all, this priceless medicine is fun, free, and easy to use. It doesn't matter which de-stressor technique you choose. What matters most is that you practice it regularly.
