Brief Description
This Run will be a fun and a change from your average 5k. The 5k gets it name "Color Dash" from the fact that powdered powder will be tossed on you as you run! It is recommended to wear white. White will also ensure that the colors look the best while you run! Come out to run/walk and participate in this unique experience. You are guaranteed to have fun and get messy, all while you're exercising!! Top 3 Finishers in Female and Male Division will get a shiny medal

Additional Information
Linda Buttars served on the Healthy West Jordan Committee for 7 years, four of which she was chairperson. She took on the responsibility for the “Decked in Red” Family Run and Walk, which began as an effort to increase physical activity and exercise for individuals and families, after its first year. Under her coordination, the event increased by 100 participants each year and has become the huge success that it is today. Linda passed away on November 4, 2006. The City Council approved a Resolution renaming the “Decked in Red” Family Run & Walk to be the “Linda Buttars Memorial Fun Run”. The Healthy West Jordan Committee has strived to maintain low entrance fees for the Fun Run further promoting this as a family and community event.

Brief Description
The Adoption Exchange will be having its annual Running for Those Who Wait 5K and Family 1 Mile walk on Saturday, May 19th, 2012 on the Jordan River Parkway. We will be meeting at Germania Park. The race will begin at 8:30 a.m. with registration open from 7:30. This race is open to everyone of any age. Families are encouraged to participate together. All money raised will be used to help find permanent adoptive homes for children waiting in foster care.

The Adoption Exchange envisions a world in which children are valued, where families are supported in their critical social roles, and where individual abilities are respected. The Adoption Exchange seeks to contribute knowledge and leadership in the field of adoption to ensure that all children grow up in a safe and permanent family.

Brief Description
Scenic Trail Run, this year using the new Upper Ghost Falls Trail along with Clarks Trail and other favorites. Choose from. 4,6,10 and 15 mile loops. Trail Run is a gentle trail in the trees, with many bridged stream crossings. The Corner Canyon Trails are really in Great shape this year.

Additional Information
This is a very scenic trail run with medium difficulty. All ages 8 and up will enjoy this event. We will have a Family rate of $70. The trail is not appropriate for strollers. Water will be provided at points along the race. We will have same day registration for $5.00 more, but tee shirt is not guaranteed.Sorry No Same Day registration for Families.

Brief Description
Come join Burma Humanitarian Mission, MICU, Asian Association of Utah and Utah Refugee Coalition in a 5k Fun run and walk. This is a free event! Every participant who raises $50 or more will recieve a stylish Run for Refugee t-shirt. The donations will assist the people of Burma who fled persecution and now live in Utah. Funds will support a wide range of youth activities in education, athletics, art and similar events.

Additional Information
This 5k is in memory of Mula Er, a 14 year old born in Burma who died tragically in a car accident earlier this year. Mula personified a refugee youth eager to make Utah her new home. She was a dedicated student and was thrilled to participant in our communities. Donations from the Run will help form a scholarship in her memory. Window World of Utah and Window World Cares presents our 3rd Annual, Running for the Children, and now, Flying for our Veterans. Come join us for a Kids 1 mile, 5K and 10K. Proceeds benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Veteran’s Airlift Command. This is a fun family walk/run. For those who are more competitive our 10K is a certified course and is sanctioned with USATF.

Additional Information
There will be food, fun and prizes after the race with a kids corner for entertainment (tethered hot air balloon rides, face painting, balloon animals and more) so join us for a fabulous cause.
