March Into May!

Hopefully your team captain was able to come pick up your information package with your pedometers and that you're ready to start walking! As a reminder, here's how the program works:

Step 1: Start Walking & Track Your Steps

Write down your daily individual steps using the Step Tracker. We will NOT be using the step conversion chart. This is NOT an exercise challenge. Please measure walking ONLY. Running, jogging, aerobic classes, etc., DO NOT count. We will be doing an exercise program later in the year; this is a walking program.

Step 2:  Report Your Weekly Steps to Your Team Captain

Every Monday, each team member turns in their weekly total steps to their team captain (ex. 42,000). The team captain totals up the steps for the entire team (ex. 126,000) and the team captain will submit their team’s total steps by Tuesday at 5 PM. The team captain will receive an e-mail every Monday that will prompt them to submit their team’s total each week.

      Week 1: Due Tuesday, April 3rd                  Week 4: Due Tuesday, April 24th
      Week 2: Due Tuesday, April 10th                Week 5: Due Tuesday, May 1st
      Week 3: Due Tuesday, April 17th                Week 6: Due Tuesday May 8th

Step 3: PRIZES!

The top 3 teams will win a delicious & nutritious lunch for all team members!

Prizes will also be given for:
· Most Creative Team Name

HEALTHY LIFESTYLES POINTS: If your team completes the program, everyone will receive 50 Healthy Lifestyles points.

How to use your pedometer:

  • Make sure the pedometer sits vertically on your hip
  • Make sure the top of the pedometer is placed as close to the top of your hipbone as possible
  • Wear your pedometer on the same side every day
  • You should be able to read the numbers when you are wearing the pedometer
  • Make sure the pedometer is straight
  • DO NOT wear the pedometer in your pocket
