What happens if you only present healthy foods to your toddler, and he refuses to eat it?
Q. Should you break down and give him goldfish crackers, marshmallows, Nilla wafers & all the other processed foods that toddlers love?
A. No, keep giving him the healthy food. Try making it into a game, or mixing it with something not so healthy, but use less unhealthy stuff as he gets used to it. Toddlers have more sensitive tastebuds so they dislike most food when they first try it, but usually end up liking it when they get used to it.
How much tuna would one have to eat to get mercury poisoning?
Q. My mom says if I eat too much tuna I'll get mercury poisoning. Is this true, or a myth? I imagine you'd have to eat 100's of pounds of the stuff before you got sick.
A. Well first off, tuna is a very healthy food. For you to get mercury poisoning you would have to eat more then your body weight in one sitting. You will get sick from the amount of food before you get from the mercury. Its just a wives tale your mom is probably just exaggerating. I say keep up with the sea food, its healthier then most other meats and with the omega-3 fatty acids they are super good for your health and heart. Hope this helped :)
How do you change your perspective on food?
Q. For so long I have eaten to my heart's content. Anything yummy, I ate and never in moderation. Now that I am trying to lose weight, I have had to leave these foods behind, but for some reason, eating healthy makes me feel deprived. I know that bad foods are doing nothing for my health and that healthy foods are, but how can I change my mindset and like eating healthy food? Any ideas or advice?
A. you say your deprived for eating healthy foods but the fact is, your feel deprived because it doesn't taste good.... i consider myself as a vegetarian and who likes meat!
at first i only eat meat and junk foods... but the moment i saw others like my parents and FRIENDS eating healthy food which i avoided, i change my eating habits. all i can say is, get a companion(S) who will eat together with you while eating the foods you avoided... eventually you will like the taste of those foods!!!!!!!
